Tracking proposal status

The draft → sent → accepted / declined workflow and what each status means.

Every proposal in BidCraft has a status that tells you where it is in the process. Here's what each one means.

Proposal statuses

  • Draft — created but not sent to the client yet
  • Sent — emailed or link shared with the client
  • Viewed — the client has opened the proposal
  • Accepted — the client clicked "Accept" on the proposal
  • Declined — the client clicked "Decline"

Changing status manually

You can manually change a proposal's status at any time from the proposal detail page. This is useful when a client accepts verbally by phone rather than through the portal.

Filtering by status

Use the filter tabs on the Proposals page and Dashboard to see only proposals at a specific stage. This helps you quickly see which jobs are open, which you've won, and which to follow up on.

Tip: Proposals with "Sent" status that haven't been viewed after 48 hours may indicate the client didn't receive the email — try following up by phone or text.

After a proposal is accepted

When a client accepts, you'll get a notification. The proposal stays in BidCraft for your records. Consider following up immediately to schedule the work — striking while the iron is hot increases the chance the job actually proceeds.
